What this calculator can do
New: the Graph mode (MENU → Graph) plots up to three functions such as sin(x), x^2-4 or ln(x), with zoom, panning, a value readout, zeros and intersection points.
This is a complete scientific calculator that runs in your browser. Type with your keyboard or tap the keys. Every key has a second function printed in orange above it, which you reach with SHIFT. Results appear instantly while you type, and pressing = (or Enter) stores the answer in Ans and in the history.
Key reference
| Key | Function |
|---|---|
| ∫ | Definite integral: ∫(x^2,0,1) gives 0.3333 = 1/3. SHIFT + ∫ gives the derivative d/dx(x^3,2) = 12. |
| a b/c | Mixed fraction entry: 1⌟2⌟3 means 1 2/3. SHIFT + a b/c gives a simple fraction. |
| x⁻¹, x², x³, xʸ | Reciprocal, square, cube and any power. SHIFT + x⁻¹ is the factorial (x!). |
| sin, cos, tan | Trigonometry in degrees, radians or gradians. SHIFT gives sin⁻¹, cos⁻¹, tan⁻¹. |
| √, ³√, ⁿ√ | Square root, cube root (SHIFT + x³) and n-th root (SHIFT + √), written root(3,27). |
| log, ln | Base-10 and natural logarithm. SHIFT gives 10ˣ and eˣ. log(2,8) is the logarithm of 8 in base 2. |
| ( ) , | Brackets and argument separator. SHIFT + ( is the absolute value. |
| STO, RCL | Store the last answer in a variable, or recall a variable. Variables: A B C D E F X Y M. You can also type 5→A. |
| M+, M− | Add or subtract the result to or from memory M. |
| ENG | Switch the result to engineering notation (exponent in multiples of 3). |
| S⇔D | Switch the result between decimal and fraction when it is an exact fraction. |
| ×10ˣ, π, Ans | Scientific notation, SHIFT + ×10ˣ for π, last answer and SHIFT + Ans for the previous answer. |
| CALC | Asks for the value of each variable in your expression and calculates it. SHIFT + CALC inserts solve( to solve equations: solve(x^2-4,1) = 2. |
| ALPHA | Opens the variable keys (A–F, X, Y, M, π, e, Ans). |
| OPTN | Extra functions: Abs, Int, Intg, Rnd, Ran#, RanInt, nPr, nCr, Pol, Rec, hyperbolic functions, GCD, LCM, degree sign and more. |
| SETUP | Angle unit, number format (Normal, Fix, Sci, Eng), number of digits and fraction style (improper or mixed). |
| MENU | Switch between Calculate, Base-N, Equation solver, Table and Statistics. |
| ▲ ▼ ◀ ▶ | Recall previous expressions and move the cursor to edit. |
Examples to try
- ∫(x^2,0,1) equals 1/3. Press S⇔D to see the fraction.
- d/dx(x^3,2) equals 12.
- solve(cos(x)-x,0) in RAD mode equals 0.739085…
- 5 nCr 2 equals 10 and nPr(5,2) equals 20.
- Pol(3,4) gives r = 5 and θ = 53.13° (stored in X and Y).
- 1⌟2⌟3 + 1/3 equals 2 (exactly).
MENU modes
- Base-N: convert between decimal, hexadecimal, binary and octal (32-bit), and apply AND, OR, XOR, XNOR, NOT and NEG.
- Equation: solve 2 or 3 simultaneous linear equations, and quadratic or cubic polynomials, including complex roots.
- Table: build a table of values of f(x) for a start, end and step.
- Statistics: one-variable statistics (mean, standard deviation, quartiles) and linear regression with the correlation coefficient.
Accuracy and limits
Results are calculated with 15–16 significant digits and shown with up to 12. Integrals and derivatives are computed numerically (adaptive Gauss–Kronrod integration and Ridders' derivative method), so very irregular functions may be less accurate. Matrix, vector, complex-number, spreadsheet and distribution modes are not included. Your expressions are processed in your browser and never sent to a server.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate an integral?
Type ∫( followed by the expression in x, the lower limit and the upper limit, separated by commas. For example, ∫(x^2,0,1). Use the ∫ key or type it.
How do I get a fraction instead of a decimal?
Press S⇔D after the result. If the result is an exact fraction, the calculator also shows it on the line under the result.
How do I plot a graph?
Press MENU and choose Graph, or type an expression with x and press the Graph this expression button. Up to three functions can be drawn at once; drag to move, scroll or pinch to zoom. The tool also lists zeros and intersection points.
How do I switch between degrees and radians?
Press the DEG / RAD / GRA label above the display, or use SETUP to choose the angle unit.
How do I store a number in a variable?
Press STO and then a variable key, or type an expression followed by an arrow and a letter, such as 5→A. Use RCL or type the letter to use it again.
Which modes from a classic scientific calculator are missing?
Matrix, vector, complex-number, spreadsheet, inequality and distribution modes are not available. The main calculation keys and the Base-N, Equation, Table and Statistics modes are included.
